Sending a problem report

If something goes wrong, a problem report tells us what the app was doing. Your documents aren’t put in it.

  1. In Fullpoint, choose Help › Save a Problem Report… from the menu bar. (It’s also in the ? menu at the bottom of the document list.)
  2. Describe what happened, if you like, and save the zip file.
  3. If the app crashed, the zip holds a crashes folder. A crash report is a snapshot of the app’s memory, so it could contain fragments of what was open. If you’d rather not share that, delete the folder from the zip.
  4. Attach the zip to an email to us.

The report holds the app’s log, any recent crash reports and a short system summary. No documents, drafts, comments or versions go in it, and keys and passwords are removed first. Exactly what’s in a problem report.

If the app closed unexpectedly, it says so the next time you open it, and your writing will already have been saved: Fullpoint writes it to disk as you type.

Common questions

My Mac won’t open Fullpoint the first time

That’s expected while the app isn’t yet registered with Apple. Here’s how to open it; you only need to do it once.

Where are my documents?

In the Fullpoint folder in your Documents folder, unless you chose another. Click the folder name at the top of the document list to switch folders.

How do I set up the assistant?

Create an Anthropic API key at console.anthropic.com, then open the assistant tab in Fullpoint (⌘L) and paste it in. Anthropic bills you directly for what you use, and you can set a monthly limit in the app.

The assistant says my key wasn’t accepted

Check that the key is active in your Anthropic account and that the account has credit, then enter it again in the assistant tab.

How do I uninstall it?

Drag Fullpoint from Applications to the Bin (the Trash, on some Macs). Your documents stay in your Documents folder until you delete them yourself.
